Whenever you’re doing something entirely new or original there is very little you can point to that suggests that what you are doing is a good idea. If you can point to past results to support your innovation, chances are you are not really innovating. The pursuit of originality is fraught with discomfort. But the ability to recognise the emotion of discomfort, and see it as a sign that you are doing something truly innovative, is the sign of a real change-maker.
