In entrepreneurship, a lot of people shy away from telling the real story out of fear of looking like a ‘failure’.

Instead we get the glamorous version… we see the multi-million dollar capital raises, the private islands, the ‘overnight’ successes stories.

Honestly though, and I think anyone’s who’s been in business will agree with me…. it’s never that easy. Building a business is fucking hard.

Many of you will know by now that in 2016, I went through an excruciatingly challenging period in business.

I give more context in this episode of Unscripted… but essentially The Entourage got to a point where we were 3 months away from operating at a monthly loss of $800k

When you’re on the brink of losing everything you’ve ever worked for you don’t sleep, you don’t eat, you are spiritually and emotionally drained 24/7. Yet somehow you still need to find the inner strength to wake up every morning and keep your head and business above water.

As I’ve started to speak more about this period of my life, I’ve been overwhelmed by the amount of people who have reached out to share similar stories and ask how we made it through. It’s made me realise how important it is that we have this conversation openly as entrepreneurs.

So in this episode of Unscripted I talk at a deeper level about the adversity I’ve faced in business, how I overcame it and how as entrepreneurs we can use adversity to get an ‘edge’.

I invite you all to share in the comments, the biggest challenge you’ve had in business and how you overcame it. This is a conversation we need to have.
